About
I hold two degrees in history. I have a BA in European History and an MA in Antiquities and Classics. I also happen to be
autistic. I am super happy to be able to marry two of my special interests, history and folklore. Within every legend lies a historical grain of truth and common threads throughout the world. Please allow me to guide you on an adventure in search of the historical backstories of some of
today’s most famous legends.

The Black Eyed Children
Black-Eyed Children are figures of modern American folklore, described as appearing human at first glance: pale skin, youthful faces, often dressed in outdated or oddly anachronistic clothing. They are most commonly encountered begging for help asking for a ride, requesting to use a phone, or standing silently on a doorstep late at night.

The Hat Man: The Shadow That Haunts Children Around the World
One of the most unsettling of these modern legend patterns is the shadow figure known as The Hat Man.
Across the world, children, and plenty of adults, have reported waking in the night to see a tall, dark silhouette standing in the room. He doesn’t speak. He doesn’t move much. Often, he simply watches. And almost always, he wears a hat. Not a hood. Not horns. Not a crown. A hat.
